The Federal Reserve Purposes & Functions + Economic Indicators

Donald Bowers, Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

This presentation qualifies for 1 CFP, CPA, CIMA CE

Attendees must stay until 8:30pm in order to receive CE credit

The Federal Reserve System, also known as "The Fed," is America's central bank. That makes it the most powerful single actor in the U.S. economy and thus the world. It is so complicated that some consider it a "secret society" that controls the world's money. They’re right. Central banks do manage the money supply around the globe. But there is nothing secret about it.  Join us for this informative session on the Federal Reserve System Purposes & Functions.  Mr Bowers will provide details on the economic indicators, system structure, responsibilities, and aims of the U.S. central banking system; as well as the five functions used to promote the effective operation of the U.S. economy and, more generally, to serve the public interest.  You will leave this event with a better understanding of how the Fed affects your life every day.

Donald Bowers is Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. In this role, Donald oversees the Dallas Fed’s Industry Outreach and Community Engagement programs. He also serves as secretary to the Houston Branch Board of Directors and leads the Business Continuity functions at the Houston Branch. As a native Houstonian, Donald demonstrates a sincere interest in his community and in education. He currently serves on the board of the American Leadership Forum, Children at Risk, the Houston Area Urban League, and he is a trustee at Rice University.  Donald and his wife, Shawn, are the proud parents of two outstanding young men. One is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and is a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. The other is a graduate of Texas State University and is a special education instructor in Pearland ISD.
