The Harvey Financial Recovery Boot Camp Volunteer Opportunities


The Harvey Financial Recovery Boot Camp will be held in Houston on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the University of Houston in Cemo Hall and is being provided at no charge.  This unique seminar will bring together experts and leaders in the areas of financial planning, tax, real estate and legal issues to share their insights of the impact of Harvey on the greater Houston area and individuals. The Boot Camp features a special lineup of interactive seminars, expert speakers and one-on-one sessions to ensure that participants have the opportunity to become acquainted and discuss challenges, insights and solutions with a wide range of professionals.   





1. Staff the table providing financial planning literature during the event


2.  Provide 15 minute one-on-one consultations in the area of financial recovery (basic financial planning)

  • Must have CFP® certification
  • Area of Expertise – Helping someone with the financial recovery process
  • May include establishing current financial situation (cash flow and balance sheet), ways to enhance income and reduce expenses, establishing a spending plan and a way to monitor, credit reports, working with creditors, rebuilding credit, credit counselors, debt relief, and adjusting the plan

This free Boot Camp will be held at the University of Houston Cemo Hall, an event venue on the main campus of the University of Houston located at 4746 Calhoun Road.
